Aled is home.....

Somewhere around the middle of last year, I put Aled in his bassinet and tucked it safely (I thought) in my spacious walk-in wardrobe

When I went to retrieve him, this is what I found.....

Mice had made their way into the wardrobe and into the bassinet, they had quite a party

I sent Aled off to the lady who had originally painted him, and this is the end result

A full repair/restoration

Though he doesn't look quite like he did originally, Aled is all in one piece and gorgeous again

...and wearing his new Carters John Lennon line gown and bib

Happy Birthday Baby!!

One year ago today, my silicone baby came home, all the way from the US

not sure if I was his first mummy, but I'm his forever mummy

can't celebrate at present, Aled was damaged by mice while safely (or so I thought) wrapped and in a bassinet in my wardrobe

He'd been there a little while as my in-laws had visited and I had packed away my nursery things....STUPID I know

and we had just finished our last (unsuccessful) attempts at having a baby of our own

anyways, the good news is that Aled is nearly finished being re.....built/finished/vamped?? and will be home in the new year

in the mean time, I have a TON of work to finish (I quilt and embroider by machine) and some exciting new things to show when they arrive.....

will post again when the Nursery corner is decorated for Christmas, and I can add decorations to existing pictures of Aled

and if you notice a theme, I collect the Carters John Lennon Nursery Ranges (Real Love and Musical Parade)   There is also another line, Emu Namae, that matches really well

Aled is currently in the U.S., visiting his Aunty Pam.  He needs some "spa time" due to vermin damage and will hopefully come back all fresh and whole
